أظن أن عهد إريك شميدت قد إنتهى يوم الإعلان عن تغيير الإدارة في جوجل في يناير الماضي، ولكن عهده إنتهى اليوم وبشكل رسمي.
إريك شميدت حين تسلم إدارة جوجل كان عدد موظفيها يبلغ 200 موظف فقط، في حيت يصل عدد موظفي جوجل حالياً إلى 24,000 موظف بالإضافة إلى الكثير من المنشأت المنتشرة حول العالم لذلك لايستطيع أحد أن ينكر أثر هذا الرجل على نجاح جوجل.
بيج الذي يقال أنه كان على خلاف مع شميدت سيتسلم المهام الإدارية المتعلقة بعمليات الشركة ومنتجاتها وتطويرها، في حين سيتكفل إريك شميدت بالعلاقات الخارجية والصفقات، وفي حين كان شميدت رجل أعمال من الطراز الأول فإن لاري بيج يريد أن يعيد روح الإبتكار إلى جوجل ويعيدها إلى مسار التطور السريع والإبتكار المستمر.
